The vineyard of the Lord

Psalm 79

  • Refrain:
  • Cantor:
    The vineyard of the Lord
    is the house of Israel.
    All:
    The vineyard of the Lord
    is the house of Israel.
  1. You brought a vine out of Egypt,
    to plant it you drove nations away.
    It stretched out it's branches to the sea,
    to the great river reached it's shoots.
  2. Then, why have you broken down it's walls?
    Stones are taken by all who pass by;
    it is destroyed, it has decayed,
    claimed unto earth again.
  3. God of Hosts, turn, we implore you,
    look down from the heavens and see;
    visit this vine protect your work,
    friut that your hand has planted!
  4. We will never forsake you, Lord,
    give us life that we may call your name.
    God of Hosts bring us back,
    shine on us,Lord, and save us!
